Since the advent of Reform and Opening-up, wardrobes have seen a diversification in styles and colors, alongside significant changes in materials. Designs have evolved from four-door and two-door models to modular units, while materials have shifted from raw timber to various specifications of particleboard, MDF, blockboard, and multi-layered solid wood panels. The transition from hiring carpenters to build wardrobes on-site to purchasing the diverse, finely crafted options available in stores reflects the changing times, rising living standards, and shifting mindsets of the public.
The custom wardrobe industry has expanded rapidly since the early 21st century. Several key enterprises were established and grew during this period; for instance, the brand Lauka entered the market in 2004. As the industry has developed, it has undergone significant evolution in areas such as product design, manufacturing processes, and business philosophies.
